RAJANIKANTHS LINGAA - BLOCK BUSTER MOVIE TRAILER

There were rumours circulating all over the internet for the past 24 hours, saying the teaser of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa would release yesterday on the 31st of October.

Millions of fans waited for hours and hours gazing at their desktops and laptops, wanting to be among the first to watch the teaser of Lingaa but were all disappointed since the teaser wasn’t launched.

We heard the team is working round the clock to produce a crisp and enthralling teaser, and now we have official information coming in from the team saying the teaser will be released this evening (1st November).

Lingaa is an tamil dramatic movie direction by K S Ravikumar. The movie starring with Superstar Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka in lead roles.

Music

A. R. Rahman composed the soundtrack album and background score for the film. Singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam has sung the introduction song, whose lyrics were written by Vairamuthu. Audio launch will happen at Sathyam Cinemas on Nov 9 and also trailer will be revealed.

Production

On 28 April 2014, rumours suggested that the film would be titled Lingaa, which is also the name of Rajinikanth's second grandson. The following day, Ravikumar stated on Facebook that filming would commence soon. Ravikumar's assistant Pon Kumaran provided the script for the film.

Rockline Venkatesh was announced as producer making it his third venture in Tamil after Dum (2003) and Majaa (2005). A. R. Rahman was confirmed as the music composer for the film.

R. Rathnavelu(Randy) was later confirmed as the cinematographer. Sabu Cyril was confirmed to handle the art direction for the film. Samjith Mhd, who had worked with Ravikumar earlier in Policegiri (2013), was confirmed as the film's editor.

Filming

Principal photography commenced on 1 May 2014 in Mysore, Karnataka, India. Rajinikanth and Sonakshi Sinha took part in the shoot. The muhurat shot of the movie was filmed in May 2014 at the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore.

Release

Earlier, the film was expected to be a Diwali release. But the makers confirmed that the film would be released on 12 December 2014, coinciding with Rajinikanth's birthday, which Rajinikanth also confirmed.

Rajinikanth- Kochadaiyaan- Trailer Creating Waves

The first teaser of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil period-drama "Kochadaiyaan"is out.

The film will feature Rajinikanth in dual role, while Sarath Kumar, Shobana, Aadi Pinisetty and Nassar will be seen in important roles.

Also starring Deepika Padukone and Jackie Shroff, "Kochadaiyaan" is touted to be India's first motion capture technology film being made along the lines of Hollywood films like "Avatar" and "Tin Tin".


Reportedly being made on a budget of over Rs.100 crore, "Kochadaiyaan" is directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Ashwin and jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment.

The film will be dubbed in Telugu as "Vikrama Simha". It will also dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and foreign languages such as Japanese, Italian and Spanish.

Singam 2 Releasing on 14- June -2013

Tamil actor Suriya-starrer action-drama "Singam 2" is expected to release in the second of week of June.

"The film ('Singam 2') is currently undergoing post-production work. It will have a grand audio launch on June 1 followed by worldwide release in the second week of the same month," said a statement from the production house.

"Singam 2" is a sequel to highly successful 2010 Tamil action-drama "Singam", which was also remade in Hindi as "Singham" with Ajay Devgn.

Hari Gopalakrishnan, who had directed the first part, wielded the megaphone for the sequel too.

The film also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Vivek, Santhanam, Radha Ravi, Nassar, Vijay Kumar, K. Vishwanath and Manorama.

Having been canned in Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala, it has also been shot in places such as Malaysia and South Africa.

The film is produced by S. Lakshman Kumar and has music by Devi Sri Prasad, who had scored for the original too.

Queen of Silver Screen - RajaSulochana

One of the most successful stars in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam movies, Pilliarchetty Bhakthavatsalam Naidu Rajeevalochana (her original name) born August 15, 1934, passed away in her home in Madipakkam in Chennai, during the early hours of March 5. Thanks to her father being promoted as PA to the General Manager of M&SM Railway the family moved to Madras from Vijayawada and settled in Triplicane, where she went to school. The school authorities recorded her name as Rajasulochana, and that’s how she continued to be known….

As a young girl, she showed interest in classical dance and had her early lessons at Saraswathi Gana Nilayam in Triplicane; her first guru was Lalithamma who taught her Bharatanatyam. Later, she learnt from K.N. Dandayudhapani Pillai (Bharathanatyam), Acharyulu and Vempati Chinna Satyam (Kuchipudi), Krishnakumar and Vishnu Vysarkar (Kathak) and Kalamandalam Madhavan (Kathakali).

Those were the days when middle-class families did not encourage girls to perform on stage, and, much against convention, Rajasulochana had her arangetram in Madras, which was presided over by the famed music scholar, lawyer and judge of the Madras High Court and Supreme Court of India, T.L. Venkatarama Iyer.

Not surprisingly, movies beckoned her, and she took her bow thanks to the celebrated Kannada stage and screen maestro H.L.N. Simha. Gunasagari (Sathyasodhanai in Tamil), produced by the Kannada cult figure Gubbi Veeranna, marked her screen debut.

She entered Tamil cinema in the early 1950s with Pennarasi, a costume drama produced by M. A. Venu, written by A.P. Nagarajan and directed by K. Somu. It was made at the famous Central Studios, Coimbatore. Her songs and dances drew enormous attention, and her fame spread far and wide.

Rajasulochana has acted in hundreds of films in many languages. Though it is not possible to list all of them, mention must be made of some that created history. Not many are aware that she was cast as the heroine in the cult film Parasakthi. But she had to opt out of the film because of her pregnancy. It was only then that Telugu actress Sriranjani Jr. was brought on board.

Rajasulochana’s most successful film, according to critics and moviegoers, was Thai Pirandhaal Vazhi Pirakkum with S.S. Rajendran, written, produced and directed by the Tamil scholar-turned- filmmaker A.K. Velan. A raving success, the film had melodious music by K.V. Mahadevan. Many songs such as ‘Amudhum thenum etharku nee aruginil irukkayiley’ became hits and are still remembered. It was remade in Telugu as Manchi Manasuku Manchi Rojulu with N.T. Rama Rao playing the lead. The film was directed by her husband, noted writer-director C.S. Rao.

Rajasulochana had the privilege of acting with all the superstars of South Indian cinema such as M.G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, N.T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Rajkumar, S.S. Rajendran, A.P. Nagarajan and M.N. Nambiar.

Her other films worth mentioning are Gulebakavali, Vanangamudi, Nallavan Vaazhvaan, Mangalyam, Rangoon Radha, Pennarasi, Kavalai Illaadha Manithan and Ellam Inba Mayam (all Tamil); Pellinati Pramanalu, Raja Makutam, Jayabheri, Santhinivasam, Mahakavi Kalidasu, Iddaru Mitrulu, Tiger Ramudu, Valmiki and Thatha Manavudu (a super hit and the debut of ace filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao) (all Telugu); Bedara Kannappa, Valmiki (Kannada); Chori Chori (Hindi, a Raj Kapoor-Nargis-AVM movie she was cast with Bhagwan); and Manasakshi (Malayalam).

In the movies she starred in, she spoke the dialogues herself. This is an interesting feature, especially today, when actors hardly speak in their own voices. Her only regret was she did not receive a college education.

One of her twin daughters, Devi, who lives in Chennai, is a talented dancer. Her other daughter, son and grandchildren live in the United States.

A recipient of many awards, Rajasulochana founded her dance school ‘Pushpanjali Nritya Kala Kendram’ in 1961 in Chennai, which celebrated its silver jubilee in 1986.

A good friend of this writer for over three decades, she was warm, friendly and humble with no starry airs. The artiste is gone but her movies shall live forever...life is short but art is immortal ….

This veteran actor has worked with with some of the best movie-makers. Says she, "More traffic jams ensue because of lack of self-discipline. Old landmarks like Thousand Lights are forgotten. People know malls as landmarks! Shopping at India Silk House was a pleasure in the old days but today there is no parking anywhere. I miss working at Vauhini, Arunachalam and AVM Studios. It was a golden period."

Rajinikanth Enjoyed Watching KAMALS Viswaroopam

Actor Kamal Haasan thanked fellow Tamil superstar Rajinikanth for standing by him during the row over Vishwaroopam by arranging a screening of the film at Rajinikanth's home in Chennai this evening.

Kamal Haasan did not watch his film with Rajinikanth. Instead, he attended a separate screening for other celebrities.

Rajinikanth, who co-starred with Kamal Haasan in many Tamil films, stood by his friend and colleague after protests from Muslim groups led to Vishwaroopam being temporarily banned in Tamil Nadu. Rajinikanth had appealed to Muslims in the state saying: "I request Muslim brethren to give up their demand to ban Vishwaroopam. Please discuss with Kamal how to make changes without affecting the storyline."

A source close to Kamal Haasan told IANS: "Yes, Rajini sir is indeed watching Vishwaroopam on Kamal sir's request. Rajini Sir was one of the first actors in Tamil Nadu who spoke up in favour of Kamal sir's film when all the protests broke out. He even offered to do a film free of cost to compensate for the losses suffered by Kamal sir because of the protests. Kamal sir has arranged a screening of Vishwaroopam in the special Auro 3D for Rajni sir."

The ban on Vishwaroopam was lifted after Kamal Haasan agreed to re-edit some scenes and the movie will release in Tamil Nadu tomorrow, almost two weeks after its original release date of January 25.

A special screening of the film for the Bollywood fraternity is also being planned in Mumbai. It is expected to be attended by the Bachchans, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, the Roshans and Shatrughan Sinha's family, among many others.

Kamal Haasan stars in Vishwaroopam with Pooja Kumar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shekhar Kapur and Rahul Bose. He has also written, directed and produced the film.

ManiRatnams KADAL -Releasing on FEB -1st

And the ace director has launched two newcomers who will hope to make the most out of this dream debut

With just a few days left for the release of Mani Ratnam’s Kadal, the makers are working to ensure that the movie gets a big opening. The film, which marks the acting debut of Gautham Karthik, son of yesteryear lover-boy Karthik, and Tulasi, daughter of veteran actress Radha, will release on February 1, and bookings are set to open from January 30.

With the release of Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam being delayed owing to the ban clamped by the Tamil Nadu state government following objections raised by some Muslim outfits, the number of theatres available for screening Kadal is likely to change as well.

Kadal, a much-expected movie from Mani Ratnam, features a line-up of stars, including Arjun, Arvind Swamy, Thambi Ramaiah and others, while AR Rahman’s music has created quite a buzz already.

Vishwaroop to release Jan 25: Kamal Haasan

Rebuffing all rumours circulating around the release of his forthcoming film Vishwaroopam, actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan says the movie will hit the screens worldwide Jan 25.

"Based on unstinted support of theatre owners and distributors fraternity, Vishwaroopam will release on Jan 25," Kamal said in a statement.

"My film (Vishwaroopam) will be released in not less than 500 screens in Tamil Nadu," he added.

Vishwaroopam was scheduled to first premier on Direct-To-Home (DTH) platform Jan 10, but the event was called off following stiff protests by theatre owners. However, Kamal Haasan has now reiterated that the film will also be released via DTH, but the date has not been finalised yet.

"I appreciate the exhibitors and distributors for having understood my vision of creating new revenue stream for film producing community through DTH," said Kamal Haasan.

The film, which stars Kamal in the title role, also features Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja in the lead. Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur and Jaideep Ahlawat are among other actors in the movie.

Kamal, 58, has written, directed and produced Vishwaroopam, which will also be released in Telugu with the same name, while in Hindi it will release as Vishwaroop.

Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have composed the music for the film, which has cinematography by Sanu Verghese.

PVP was supposed to produce Vishwaroopam but the canvas kept widening. They were kind enough to become the financers while I took over production. I got a cameraman who would work on digital cinema, an AD from the US, an art director from Vietnam, and stuntmen from Thailand and the US. It wasn't an easy film to make. We didn't shoot in Afghanistan since we were advised it would be unsafe. We thought of going to Kazakhstan but the people there were not film savvy. Eventually, we recreated Afghanistan in Chennai. Also, we dropped the idea of casting big stars like Sonakshi Sinha among others. We wanted the money to show in the film and not in its posters.

NASA scientists have reportedly confirmed that the planet Nibiru will collide with Earth on December 21st.

When Kamal Haasan makes a film he puts himself in the place of the audience and tries to predict what they would like to see. “Audiences are something that we are scared of. We are so paranoid of audiences that we forget to realize that we filmmakers are also one of them.” I think this trick is working pretty well with him.

Kamal Hassan - A Great Versatile Actor -Readout Why?

Kamal Hassan has over the years donned many roles in Indian cinema. Ulaganayagan(roughly translates to ‘Hero of the world’), as he is fondly called, was all of three when he sprung into the silver screen. Now am not going to rewind the history path travelled by Kamal, which many would be vaguely aware of and this piece doesn’t even venture into it.

I am very sure that no one in Indian cinema was, is or ever will be able to master many sub-fields within a field, as was achieved by Kamal Hassan. After his initial on-screen presence during his childhood days, Kamal was more inclined to be part of the behind- the-glitz and glamour team. 

Kamal Hassan as a Choreographer ( Dance Composer) : 

As a choreographer, he worked with many leading heroes in Tamil cinema like Sivaji and MGR in those days. He is one of the very few heroes who can dance both Bharathanatyam and the western dance with elan. Not many(may be none) can boast off such command over both sides of the spectrum. His dance repertoire in Salangai Oli was applauded by the masses and was watched in awe by many in the film fraternity.

Kamal Hassan as an Actor: 

This probably is the easiest part. The guy needs no introduction in this segment. A prolific actor, Kamal is the recipient of 3 national awards(for ‘Nayagan’, ‘Moondram Pirai and ‘Indian’). But the most striking feature about his acting, atleast to me, is his timing for comedy. Humour is not easy, when it has to be enacted. Kamal is the king of comedy genre. Many films like ‘Panchathantiram’, ‘Michael Madana Kamarajan’, ‘Thenali’, ‘Sathileelavathi’, ‘Pammal K Sambandam’, ‘Vasool Raja MBBS’ and not to forget ‘Singaravelan’ are a very few of his best works in Comedy genre. So, comedy is probably my favourite in his works, though his works in films like ‘Indian’, ‘Nayagan’, ‘Devar Magan’ and the evergreen ‘Anbe Sivam’ are etched in everyones memory.

Kamal Hassan as a Director/ Screen Play writer:  

Kamal wanted to be a director, very much like his guru K.Balachander. Maybe, the knowledge rubbed into him and here we have the director of aptly structure movies like ‘Virumaandi’. He has a great share behind the scenes in he movies like ‘Mahanadi’, ‘Devar Magan’ and ‘Dasavatharam’. Many criticise Kamal for his over involvement in many of his films, many a time turning into Director, Cinematographer, Music director. But, somebody with so much talent would be best advised to take a share of all these if the outcome is a much better play. His screen play in ‘Devar Magan’, ‘Mahanadi’ and ‘Dasavatharam’ was applauded by even the worst of his critics.

Kamal Hassan is a Polyglot: 

Kamal is someone who not only has strong control over his mother tongue Tamil and also English, he is someone who knows atleast 8 other languages. His control over many languages comes to the fore in his climax scene in ‘Panchathantiram’. Language skill is such an important criteria in films, especially if you are in India, with languages sprouting every Friday. I can strongly say no one the Film industry has the skill to converse with his fellow Indians in their mother tongue as does Kamal.

Tamil Poet:

 This is one of the most interesting face of Kamal. His use of tamil with all its intricacies makes people sit up and take note. Of late, he is building his own niche as a Tamil poet. ‘Venbaa’ is a grammatically difficult set of poems in tamil which needs deep knowledge of Tamil language to understand, let alone pen them. It has rules like every line should have four words only, last line should have three words, the first word in the penultimate line should be an independent word and totally only four lines.

(Hope am right in the grammer part). His sing-song poem in ‘Manmadan Ambu’ , is a big example to Kamal’s writing skills.

Singer: 

 Kamal may not be in the elite group of singers like SPB, Yesudas, Hariharan and Unni Krishanan, but he surely has laid out his own mark as a singer. The immediate songs that come to mind as ‘Yaar Yaar Sivam’ from ‘Anbe Sivam’, ‘Marugo’ from ‘Sathileelavathi’, ‘Inzhi Iduppu’ from ‘Devar Magan’ and the soothing song from ‘Manmadan Ambu’, ‘Neela Vanam’(such a fantastic song from the master himself). The distinct voice of his is exploited to the hilt, to get the best out of himself.

Aethiest: 

Though from a very orthrodox Tamil Iyengar Kamal has no such ideals. A staunch proponent against marriage institutions(not surprising, he has two divorced marriages before), Kamal is of the clad who calls themselves rationalist and doesn’t believe in the so callled enity ‘God’. Its a very private side of his life, which gets much publicised.

The many faces adapted by this man makes him a true legend, not just in Indian cinema,but also as a go-getter human being. I have always been fascinated and awed at not the different roles he takes up in reel life, but the range of different hue that he has taken up in real life.

Eega - Naan Ee - Movie Story Line : Nani (Hero - Nani) is madly in love with neighbour Bindhu (Samantha), who playfully keeps him guessing about her feelings for her. Sudeep (Sudeep- Kannada Super hero), a millionaire and a womanizer, lusts after Bindhu and murders Nani when he comes to know of his love for her. Nani is reborn as a housefly and swears revenge! At a Time Released in both Popular Movie Industries (Telugu -Tamil and named the Film Eega (Telugu Version) - Naan Ee (Tamil Version)

Eega Movie Review: Telugu Movie Director Rajamouli's 'Naan Ee' is a film that requires suspension of disbelief but it goes about its task in such a brilliant manner that you have no choice but to surrender willingly — and gleefully — to its charms. It is a premise that is sure to make many a filmmaker smack his forehead and exclaim 'Why didn't I think of this?' As in his biggest hit 'Magadheera', revenge and reincarnation are the themes of the director's latest offering, but the difference here is that the hero is reborn as one of the lowliest of creatures — a housefly. And, what a difference it makes!

This 'Ee' isn't one that you casually dismiss with a swat of your hand but one that makes the antagonist sweat and finally fall prey to its plan. The casting of Sudeep as the businessman with a roving eye is clearly a masterstroke. The role requires someone who is charismatic but still conveys wickedness. An established Tamil actor might have made the character look formidable, but Sudeep, a popular hero in Kannada films, is relatively a new face to Tamil audiences. And so, he makes for a fearsome but vulnerable foe.

Rajamouli smartly does away with Nani's romantic track in a brisk and delightful manner to let Sudeep and 'Ee' take centrestage and the duo doesn't disappoint even for a moment. The director comes up with inventive ways (right from the incessant buzzing around Sudeep and disturbing his sleep to make him crash his car and burn his house down) on how a small insect can torment a human being. And he treats these scenes with the right amount of lightness of touch -- even as you laugh at the plight of the villain, you never lose track of the fly's objective of killing him. The director has you so engrossed in the film that you don't even notice the absence of Santhanam (who is often the welcome presence in most films nowadays). When he pops up in the second half (in a rather brief but funny scene), you actually let out a silent groan fearing that a comedy track might hinder the film's pace.

The film is a technical triumph, especially the visual effects by Makuta VFX. Barring the scene when it hatches from the egg and certain close-ups that clearly scream animation, the housefly is a success, right from the red compound eyes and body hair to the almost transparent wings. The background score by Maragadhamani (known as Keeravani in Telugu) perfectly complements the film. The songs, rather than being speed bumps in the screenplay, actually take it forward.

Rajamouli ends with a killer punchline that isn't uttered and your only reaction as it flashes on the screen is to stand and applaud. This is a bravura piece of commercial filmmaking that is an unqualified triumph in every aspect.

Tip-off: Do not miss the hilarious epilogue, which also features a trademark cameo from Crazy Mohan (who is also in charge of the dialogues).

He used to sing in distinct styles for the two great heroes of his time, MGR and Sivaji, and came to be identified as their voice. A.M .RAJA - GREAT SINGER..

A.M.Raja's first Tamil film was Samsaram (1951), he sang all the songs .His first Hindi film was Bahut Din Huye, the next year he started singing for Telugu films also.His duets with Jikki (whom he married later) were roaring hits.In 1958 Raja turned to Music direction, Sobha(Telugu) was his first film as a music director. Pelli Kaanuka(1960) established him as a music director. He has sang about 10,000 songs in different languages and has directed the music for about 100 films. He died in a train accident on April 8th 1989 at Valliur in Tirunelveli District.
