DSC -2008 District wise MERIT LIST
In a crucial decision aimed at ending the unrest among candidates selected under District Selection Committee - 2008, the government has in principle accepted the recommendation of a Cabinet sub-committee to fill all the notified teachers' posts.
The Cabinet sub-committee, comprising D. Manikya Varaprasad, Botcha Satyanarayana and N. Raghuveera Reddy, met on Wednesday evening and decided to fill over 30,000 notified posts as and when the vacancies arise within five months to one year. The controversy arose as more posts were notified than the actual vacancies.
After examining the financial implications of filling all the notified posts, the Ministers called on Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and secured his approval for their proposals.
Briefing media persons later, Minister for Secondary Education Mr. Varaprasad said that out of 52,846 posts notified for recruitment under DSC-2008 on December 6, 2009, 30,704 posts fell under the category of Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts.
The problem arose when the government realised that there were only 21,330 SGT vacancies. As many as 9,340 more vacancies were required to fill the notified posts with the eligible candidates. This dilemma was partly resolved when 5,000 vacancies arose after promotions.
Mr. Varaprasad said these vacancies would be filled in the next two months and the remaining 4,340 posts within five months to one year. "Various options are being considered to create these regular posts in various positions including wardens."
He said 1,149 vacant school assistant posts that were pending would also be filled.
